Jewish Kids of Prescott learn about the Omer
This week Tuesday. the kids learned about the counting of the Omer. They made special charts and started preparing for the upcoming giving of the Torah. On Thursday the Bat mitzvah aged girls worked on Hebrew (thanks Bracha and Rochelle), their Jewish Holiday scrap books and of course the mitzvah of counting of the Omer leading up to the Holiday of the giving of the Torah!
(On a side note...would you be interested in sponsoring a special prize for any child who hears the 10 commandments? Call 9283628924 to inquire. It is a great investment.)
Every week the kids start with a snack (blessing before of course), giving Tedaka, and head to their class location. It's no secret we're getting short on space, so some kids head down the street to some borrowed space. Most kids spend some time learning Hebrew and learning about a relevant Jewish topic with their teacher. Afterwards, all the different ages head back to do a craft.
This week, on the way walking back, as we were singing prayer songs loudly and proudly we saw an elderly man walking by smiling. Turns out he's a Jew from the area we never met. Nothing like Jewish Pride.
Special thanks to Morah Chaya from Erau for all the weeks you taught. We wish you luck this summer in Israel!
If you'd like to sponsor a week, don't be shy!
